SolectaINSIGHTS Featured in Cheese Market News
Cheese Market News published a feature article on SolectaINSIGHTS, the monthly membrane performance service for dairy processors launched by Solecta.
The article examines a challenge familiar to most dairy operations: membrane elements are typically replaced on fixed calendar schedules rather than based on individual performance data. While that approach has been standard practice for years, it means elements can lose recoverable protein in the permeate for months before their scheduled change-out. Solecta field casework puts that recoverable share at 2 to 5 percentage points of protein yield.
SolectaINSIGHTS addresses this gap by converting a processor’s own operational data into trended performance analysis, recommended replacement timing, and a dollar value of the protein currently leaving in permeate for each loop. The service runs on a monthly cycle, requires no remote access to the plant, and is delivered by applications engineers who have commissioned more than 500 dairy installations.
The article also highlights the market context driving urgency around protein recovery. Whey protein values have roughly doubled in two years, making every percentage point of yield more economically significant than ever.
SolectaINSIGHTS launched publicly this month following a two-year private engagement with a top-10 U.S. cheese processor, which made 100% of its membrane change-out decisions based on the monthly reports over that period.
The piece includes perspectives from Scott LaRoche, Director of Applications Engineering at Solecta, and Jürgen von Hollen, CEO of Acuriant Technologies, Inc.
